The Cat Shack

Inspiration? Everyone needs some, right? Rin Tanaka thought exactly that when he named his "first annual Kultural recycling & vintage clothing world gathering" Inspiration and dropped it right in my front yard (read: Barker Hannger, SM Airport) a few weeks ago. It was basically a cross between a highly edited Sunday at the Rose Bowl and an exclusive fashion trade show built for vintage collectors and collectors of vintage reproductions made so authentically that you can not tell if they are vintage or not. Or possibly an issue of Free & Easy with a Surf Theme. My favorite eye candy was Robbie Kegal's canvas "cool alter" with some pretty amazing board sprays and a band of followers that looked the part, but it was also cool to see Koji Toyoda's Palm Graphics on local soil too...I'm not a big fan of Mr. Freedom (too over designed) but there was some other domestic stuff like Rising Sun & RRL that was easy on the eyes...
