Cups, Coffee & Love...
...all reoccurring themes on Bonfirebeachkids. I'm on a jet plane for Mex in the morning for a much needed family holiday...the first of its kind in two years! I've been slack on posts, so hopefully this mug of love will be overflowing until April 4th... Enjoy.

And the winner is...
Yesterday, Surfline ran a great piece on the legendary Stubbies Classic at Burleigh Heads, March 18, 1977. The last image is of the man above, Michael Peterson as he was declared winner. I had the pleasure of shaking this mans hand about six years ago, not far away from this same spot. The years haven't been so kind, but this image portrays the legend no one will ever forget. And I have to give some serious props to Cheyne Horan for this turn below. As a little grom, Cheyne was blowing my mind three decades ago! Seriously, consider the equipment he was riding! This grab was so far beyond the sport itself in 1977 & still holds it's own today. And by the way, the article said this was Cheyne's professional debut...

In the constant pursuit of inspiration...
My Crazy schedule has found me up in Seattle for 48 hours and I tucked into Antiques at Pike Place for a little treasure hunting with Cory. We did a quick lap and saw the usual vintage pictures, pins, perfume bottles and overpriced fragments of a bygone era. I think I was more stoked with the view from the front door than the treasures to be found inside. That was, until I rounded the bend for the door and saw Don Blanding glowing from a table below (literally, check out the gold foil cover). A long time Blanding fan, I was stoked to take a quick flip only to discover it's signed on the inside cover...I can't make out the name, but in the classic spirit of Dan Blanding, the inscription reads, "Aloha..Happy Days, Don Blanding...Oct 3rd, 1955." The best part??? This little beauty only cost me 11 bucks!!! I would have paid so much more...

"18 years of awesomeness"
Received this image today with the following..."This is the windshield of a Toyota Land Cruiser that was parked on location this last week when we were shooting in Santa Barbara. That’s 18 years of awesomeness." Awesomeness indeed. And a little envy this afternoon from Culver City...thanks Todd.
