This is the evolutionary and unedited long-track process mapping of my last minute decision-process with regard to what inspirational spark I was going to hand to Mark for my new tattoo. (pause) As usual, lots of last minute consulting with Hannah, and many small sketches only to land on four different concepts I wanted to pursue. Alas, I passed Mark a Remy Charlip hand concept, and walked out with a gangsta bandana on my arm. Mark even used some white ink too... (followed by a deep sigh)

High Five Remy Charlip here...

Mark's signature black gloves...
Then I went down a Tom Carnase worm hole...

I had a moment with desert themes, and cacti, this one above is actually Mark's work...

And then I played around with some other ideas that I've been grooving on...
But then I switched gears to bandanas...
and got all stylee, and this is way more gangsta then a hippie hand drawing...
lots of ideas.

and so we got to work...
this has absolutely nothing to do with my tattoo, but my friend Pam posted this Joseph Dirand quote and it sort of defined my recent state of mind...

a beer doesn't thin your blood as much as muscle relaxers does so chill son...
