Snow a week before June
85 Miles from Venice and 20 minutes west of Palm Springs en route to Phoenix we hit a spooky black sky, ice balls from the heaven and than it amassed in what looked like 6 inches of snow all over the freeway and blanketing the hillside. Crazy weather - when we finally got to Phoenix five hours later, we heard about a Tornado and other very un -California weather, especially a week before June! It should have been 110 degrees in Arizona and it was 65 when we got there.

Good Karma
...Magic Monday & Eden Ever Beauty...
Lost wallets suck! You have to replace everything including your license and there's this underlying feeling that some creep is about to crib your entire identity and drain your life savings. So I started off this Monday with a plan of attack - check emails, a quick surf and then off to eat 'M' Cafe with Hannah and my scheduled appointment at the DMV to replace lost license. En route I checked my messages to find that some wonderful women called Modern and told them she had found my wallet in the street. The message was relayed to me and I called "Annie" to see if this was true. I had been curious if there was anyone good left in this world (or in LA?) and there truly is!!! Annie had me come meet her at her work and get my wallet with all of it's contents. So if your ever over off Crenshaw Blvd. in Korea Town, stop by Eden Ever Beauty (EdunEveryEeauty.com) and get the works - "Skincare, Nail Care, Tanning, Wax & Bridal Services." It's a one stop shop!!! Ask for Annabel Lee - she's the President! And if you ever loose your wallet, don't loose hope - Hopefully someone like "Annie" will pick it up and track you down. As if things couldn't get better on this Magic Monday, I came home to find my replacement deck waiting for me at the door complete with see through grip tape!!! Things are looking up!!!
Bad Karma
So it's been about a week since I tried bombing Ocean Park hill unsuccessfully - rolling over the hood of a pale green jetta and snapping my favorite skate board under its wheels. This was quite a bummer, but I suppose it could have ended much worse. Subsequently, the waves went completely flat! Then about five days later, whilst pushing my bike home from picking up sushi, my wallet slipped out of the back pocket of my boardies (suspicious velcro!) and after three rides back and forth along the path I had taken, I wrote it off as lost and called in the credit cards...
Hippie Duck
This beauty was conceptualized during our Sunday morning ritual - breakfast at Axe. Lennon brought the duck, the stick and the leaf. She made a beautiful sculpture with them and then ran all around picking up flower petals that had fallen on the steps outside. We thought they made a nice base for the free bird! I then put it all in my pocket for the bike ride home where we reconstructed it on the table outside! It reminds me of the offerings the Balinese people leave for the Gods. Hopefully we will get a lot of love from the big duck in the sky!!!

Still To Come...
Hannah looked at the blog earlier and made a comment that it's all surf! Hmmmmmm...I just told her that the surf pics were the first pics I came across in the archives that I plan on posting. There are many more "non-surf" pics on their way. And Then I looked into the photo file and saw this mess. I dig the composition of this digital madness!!!

Ethan Murrow
Hannah and I first discovered Ethan Murrow's art when he had his first show at one of our favorite Venice stores - Obsolete! That was about three years ago. We were blown away when we walked back in today and his drawings have doubled in size and tripled in price. But well worth it. They are amazing works...
